Security Systems can be large and complex or small and simple. Intruder detection happens with sensors specifically designed to detect the signs of intrusion. The decision center of a Security System is the Control Panel, which takes in the information from sensors, and takes the appropriate action based on a pre-programmed protocol. A wired Security System is a closed network of sensors, with a continuous electronic signal streaming through the network. When that signal is broken by a burglar, the network is broken, and the system alarms. A wireless Security System works differently. Wireless signals are sent to the control panel when an intruder breaks in. Wireless equipment can be very solid or very weak, depending on the manufacturer and their specifications. It is up to the company and the technicians to decide the best course between wired and wireless equipment. It is a good practice to usewired equipment primarily, and wireless as a secondary option. Many discount systems use poor-quality wireless equipment, and this often leads to a system that torments their customers.
